TERRY TUGMAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND Information and Instructions

ASDS is once again activating the Terry Tugman Scholarship Fund for the 2011 Show Year.

The Terry Tugman Scholarship Fund honors and memorializes an outstanding horsewoman who was instrumental in establishing nationally recognized horse Shows in Hawaii. Terry Tugman was an avid rider, competitor, and judge. ASDS is a beneficiate of her dedication to equestrian sport.

Scholarship awards from the Terry Tugman Scholarship Fund provide financial assistance to in-dividuals to further their dressage education by defraying registration fees to ASDS sponsored programs such as clinics, symposiums and seminars.

ASDS will allocate scholarships, for the coming 2011 year. The awards will be in the form of vouchers and will not be redeemable for cash. All members in good standing, Open, Amateur Adult, and Junior Young Riders, are eligible to apply.

Applications are also available for download from the ASDS website. The selection committee consisting of a minimum of three Board members, including the president will review and an-nounce the recipient(s) at the Annual Banquet in January 2011.

The criteria for applicants are as follows:

a. Current ASDS member in good standing during application and at time of use of the scholarship. b. Person has volunteered and participated in ASDS and dressage related activities. c. Member expresses financial need in order to achieve his or her goals for the coming year. d. The application form and the brief essay for the scholarship is completed and post-marked by the due date of September 30, 2010. NOTE: Additional donations and fund raising efforts are welcomed toward this scholarship fund, but the ASDS Board reserves the right to withhold scholarship awards if monies from the ASDS treasure are not sufficient to support the program in any future year.
